Venice, falls from catamaran and gets caught in the propeller: woman dies

Milan, May 17 (LaPresse) – A woman died on Saturday afternoon in Marina di Sant'Elena, Venice, after falling from a catamaran and getting caught underwater by a rope in the propeller. The firefighters arrived on the scene in just eight minutes with two lagoon fire trucks and the Drago 160 helicopter, which also carried divers from the flight department. One of the divers immediately plunged into the water and managed to free the woman in less than a minute by cutting the rope. The woman was quickly handed over to the care of the Suem medical team, who performed CPR for an extended period. Unfortunately, all attempts were in vain, and the doctor had to pronounce her dead. The coast guard and the carabinieri also intervened on the scene.
