Milan, June 1 (LaPresse) – “It was a stupid gesture. A post written on impulse during the night, after hearing on the news that Italy continued to send weapons to Israel. I woke up the next morning and said: ‘Oh my God, what did I write.’ I deleted it immediately. I regret the content. One should never wish death, especially to a child. But I do not retract my political beliefs: I don’t feel represented by this government and I won’t change my mind even if they imprison me,” said Stefano Addeo, a German teacher at a high school in the province of Naples, in an exclusive interview with Roma online.
Addeo had written a post wishing for Giorgia Meloni’s daughter “the same fate as the girl from Afragola,” referring to 14-year-old Martina Carbonaro, who was killed by her ex-boyfriend Alessio Tucci.
In the interview, the teacher apologizes and says he is “sorry for the content of the post,” calling it “stupid,” but also claims it was “exploited.” He stated he has received “death threats” and has been “insulted in every possible way.” He reported the threats to the cyber police.
Addeo then addressed the Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditara: “I don’t accept the idea that a teacher must blindly follow the government’s views to be considered worthy of the role. My students adore me, as shown by the messages they’ve been sending me over the past few hours.”
