Florence, June 6 (LaPresse) – Vasile Frumuzache, the 32-year-old accused of the murders of two sex workers in Prato and Montecatini (Pistoia), was attacked in prison by a relative of Ana Maria Andrei, the woman who went missing and was killed in 2024 — a crime Frumuzache confessed to during interrogation. The news comes from a statement released by the Prato Prosecutor’s Office.

Prato’s Chief Prosecutor, Luca Tescaroli, described the incident as "a particularly serious matter, because every person, even if suspected of serious crimes, has the clear right to be protected, treated humanely, and respected as a human being."

While in prison following his confession to the double murder, Frumuzache had boiling oil thrown on his face. He is accused of killing Denisa Paun and Ana Maria Andrei.
