Naples, 14 June (LaPresse) – A moving applause greeted the arrival at the church of Santa Maria Madre in Ostuni (Brindisi) of the coffin of Carabinieri Brigadier Carlo Legrottaglie, killed yesterday in a shootout. His cap was placed on the coffin, which was draped in a tricolour flag. Present in the church were the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi and the Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto, as well as the heads of local institutions and law enforcement agencies. Outside the church, hundreds of people braved the intense heat to pay their last respects to the carabiniere.
