Rome, 14 June (LaPresse) – At 5 p.m., the vast majority of the floats participating in Rome Pride 2025 organised a flash mob, asking everyone to turn off their music for five minutes and raise Palestinian flags and symbols in honour of the civilian victims in Gaza. The float of the LGBTQI+ community belonging to the Jewish community, Keshet Europe, refused to participate in the symbolic action despite being invited to do so. The gesture did not cause any tension in the parade, but several demonstrators expressed their indignation at the Jewish community's choice, which defended its decision from its float, asking people to raise flags of peace and not partisan flags: “They are spitting on the Palestinian victims,” was the comment from the Gender Queers float, which organised the flash mob. Many waved Palestinian flags and symbols in front of the float in protest.
