Rome, 24 June (LaPresse) – The funeral of Stefania Camboni, the 60-year-old woman stabbed to death on 15 May in her villa in Fregene, in the municipality of Fiumicino, will take place tomorrow at 11 a.m. in the church in the Fregene pine forest. The murder, which shocked the local community, took place in circumstances that are still unclear. The deputy prosecutor in charge of the investigation has authorised the return of the body to the family, thus allowing the funeral to be held in public. The main suspect is Giada Crescenzi, the victim's daughter-in-law, who is currently in prison for aggravated murder. In the last few hours, Stefania's son, Francesco Violoni, has also been placed under investigation by the Civitavecchia Public Prosecutor's Office. The lawyer for the Camboni-Violoni family, Massimiliano Gabrielli, explained that the investigation is to guarantee their rights of defence, in view of the unique analysis of the evidence found at the crime scene. Among the key items collected by investigators are a knife, a bloodstained T-shirt, the victim's mobile phone and four pairs of latex gloves. DNA testing on the evidence, scheduled for tomorrow, could prove decisive. The Carabinieri investigating the crime are focusing on an envelope containing items linked to the murder, abandoned 100 metres from the victim's car. According to lawyer Gabrielli, the circumstances surrounding the discovery raise “many unanswered questions”.
