Cagliari, July 2 (LaPresse) – Life imprisonment and one year of solitary confinement for Igor Sollai, the 43-year-old truck driver who, after denying it for months, confessed to the murder of his 42-year-old wife Francesca Deidda in San Sperate, in the province of Cagliari. During this morning's hearing, public prosecutor Marco Cocco, who requested a life sentence for the defendant, described the crime as heinous and emphasized the severity of the way the woman was killed and then hidden inside a duffel bag, buried at the edge of State Road 125. No further remarks were made. Sollai made no spontaneous declarations. The court, presided over by Lucia Perra, retired to deliberate and has just issued the sentence.
