Naples, July 2 (LaPresse) – An 85-year-old man died in the emergency room of San Martino Hospital in Genoa, where he had gone for dehydration. The elderly man, who also suffered from other medical conditions, experienced cardiac decompensation after entering the ER, which led to his death. The 85-year-old was a resident of Genoa.
A total of nine people have been admitted to the San Martino emergency room with symptoms related to the heat, such as dehydration or other heat-related conditions. In all cases, the patients were elderly, vulnerable individuals with multiple comorbidities.
The ER continues to distribute water bottles to patients and their companions without interruption.
