Milan, 6 July (LaPresse) – Anti-drug raid in Catania. The Finance Police of the Provincial Command of Catania arrested a person who, on board an articulated lorry, was transporting approximately 64 kg of cocaine.In particular, officers from the Catania Rapid Response Unit, in collaboration with a canine unit, stopped a lorry driven by a 30-year-old man from Campania in the industrial area of Catania. He was stopped for a check of his identity documents and the goods he was transporting. The driver's nervous reaction convinced the officers to search him and the vehicle. Inside the semi-trailer, cleverly hidden between the floor and the pallets of goods, two dark-coloured bags were found containing blocks of narcotics which, after rapid analysis using a drug test, were found to be cocaine. while inside the glove compartment of the tractor unit, 1 gram of hashish and 800 euros in cash were also found.The Etna Green Berets then proceeded to seize the drugs, which were likely intended to supply the province's drug markets, the vehicle used for transport and the cash, and arrested the driver of the vehicle in flagrante delicto for the offence of possession and transport of drugs.
