Naples, 8 July (LaPresse) – A large-scale international operation coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Reggio Calabria and carried out by officers from the Central Operations Service of the State Police and the Reggio Calabria Mobile Squad has been underway since the early hours of this morning. Twenty-five foreign nationals have been remanded in custody and 43 are under investigation, for a total of 68 individuals accused of being part of an international migrant trafficking network involving four organised associations responsible for all stages of the illegal crossing of migrants along the eastern Mediterranean route, from the ports of Turkey to the coast of the province of Reggio Calabria.
