Pesaro, 12 July (LaPresse) – ‘We are deeply shocked by what happened last night. An unacceptable tragedy has shaken our community, taking away an innocent life.’ These were the words of Marotta Mondolfo mayor Nicola Barbieri, commenting on the tragedy that took place yesterday in his town, where 70-year-old Sandro Spingardi, now in prison in Pesaro, shot and killed his sister-in-law Griselda Cassia Nunez, 44, and wounded his 28-year-old niece during a party with children. The crime took place in a pergola outside the house, in an area where the victim lived and where the alleged murderer resides in a caravan. ‘We express our deepest condolences and sympathy to the family affected by this act of madness and to the young mother who was injured,’ said the mayor, ‘to whom we send our thoughts of hope and wishes for a speedy recovery.’
