Milan, 17 July (LaPresse) – There are 74 suspects in the massive investigation into urban planning in Milan, about 50 more than the people and companies that were searched on Wednesday by the financial police to seize documents, emails, phones and devices. The most prominent names include Mayor Giuseppe Sala, the Councillor for Urban Regeneration, Giancarlo Tancredi, who is facing a request for house arrest, as is entrepreneur Manfredi Catella, and Stefano Boeri, but there are also numerous businessmen, managers and their respective companies, such as Paolo Bottelli for Blackstone's asset management company, Kryalos, Gianpiero Schiavo for Castello sgr, renowned professionals and architects such as Patricia Viel, Antonio Citterio and Alessandro Scandurra, as well as former members of the landscape commission. Dozens of building projects are under investigation after the financial police yesterday seized documentation on a further 28 building permits from the municipal offices. The charges include corruption, undue influence, building abuse and illegal land parcelling.
