Milan, 26 July (LaPresse) – ‘The “warning” expressed in my message to the Mayor of Milan was not a threat, but rather a serious alarm regarding the actions of the City Council's Landscape Commission, which continued to reject our “Botanical Tower” project on grounds that had nothing to do with the tasks assigned to the Commission itself.’ This was written in a long post on social media by architect Stefano Boeri, one of those under investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office in the urban planning inquiry that also involves the mayor, Beppe Sala. ‘After a year of meetings and heated discussions, our project for Via Pirelli 39 was approved by the Commission only after we reluctantly abandoned the original idea of the “Botanical Tower” (an experimental and advanced architectural design that I was very fond of and which I believe would have brought Milan significant international recognition) and presented a substantially different project,’ added Boeri.
