Milan, August 7 (LaPresse) – An important agreement was signed today between Filt Cgil Torino Piemonte and Just Eat to address the heat emergency, in line with the Ordinance issued by the President of the Piedmont Region on July 2, 2025, and its amendment on July 3, which explicitly included third-party delivery workers (riders).

The agreement marks a concrete and innovative step toward protecting the health and safety of riders: a structured and automated protection system that removes all discretionary elements and is automatically activated when “high” risk conditions are detected, based on official data from the Worklimate portal.

This means that the decision to suspend or reduce activity due to excessive heat is no longer left to individual workers: the company, under the agreement, is required to implement mandatory and shared measures.

Among the main provisions are: a 60-minute reduction in shifts between 12:00 and 16:00 on high-risk days; complete exemption from shifts during the same time window for workers over 60 and certified vulnerable individuals; and the ban on using muscle-powered bicycles on high-risk days (with shift assignment priority given to riders using cars or scooters, followed by those using e-bikes).
