Milan, Aug. 7 (LaPresse) – An 83-year-old woman from Pontinia died today at Santa Maria Goretti Hospital in Latina due to the West Nile virus. According to the Lazio Region, the patient had arrived at the emergency room on July 24. She was admitted to intensive care in serious condition due to multiple coexisting health issues and died in the ICU. This marks the sixth confirmed West Nile-related death in the Lazio region.
