Rome, 15 August (LaPresse) – After four days of agony, Franco Perlino, 82, originally from the municipality of Fonte Nuova, in the province of Rome, died at the Dono Svizzero hospital in Formia, in the province of Latina. The former postal worker was on holiday in the Pontine seaside resort. The man had been beaten by a motorist, originally from Naples, in the car park of the former Avir in Gaeta on 11 August. According to the reconstruction by police officers, who interviewed witnesses and viewed CCTV footage, the person who attacked him punched the rear window of the victim's Fiat Panda and threw him to the ground, causing him to hit his head several times. The Cassino Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating. The perpetrator is under investigation but remains at large.
