Cagliari, August 19 (LaPresse) – Second victim of botulism poisoning in Sardinia. Valeria Sollai, 62, died overnight. She had been hospitalized for weeks in intensive care at the university hospital after eating guacamole at the Fiesta Latina in Monserrato, near Cagliari. Admitted in July, her condition was serious from the start and never improved: during the night, her health deteriorated further, leading to her death. On August 8, 38-year-old Roberta Pitzalis had also died at Businco Hospital after consuming the same sauce at the same food stand. Christian Gustavo Vincenti, the owner of the stand where the contaminated products were served, is so far the only person under investigation by the Cagliari public prosecutor's office.
