We are stunned by what is happening in Gaza, despite the condemnation of the entire world.’ These were the words of Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State, in Naples for the 37th National Liturgical Week, commenting on the latest news from the Gaza Strip. ‘It is truly senseless and there seems to be no glimmer of a solution. The situation appears to be becoming increasingly complicated and precarious from a humanitarian point of view, with all the consequences we see every day,’ added Parolin.
