Milan, 3 September. (LaPresse) – The Committee for Legality and Combating Organised Crime is ready to support the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, on the issue of urban planning, following judicial investigations that also involved the municipal administration. The dialogue ‘began before the summer break and yesterday we formally accepted,’ the committee's president, Nando Dalla Chiesa, told LaPresse. The Committee's role will not concern urban planning policies, but will focus “on the correctness of institutional behaviour” with regard to the issue, with the aim of building “a framework of rules consistent with good administrative principles”, explains Dalla Chiesa. “It is a matter of carrying out an in-depth study, not a long one but one that is aware of what has happened,” added the sociologist and university professor who is an expert on anti-mafia issues. The aim of the process “is to draw up a new set of rules, which must be studied. Something has gone wrong, and it is clear that many aspects and steps need to be thoroughly reviewed. The mayor has asked us for help, and we are very happy to give it,” he concluded.
