Milan, Sept. 13 (LaPresse) – The ‘Il Nido’ maternity home on Via Marmorata in the Testaccio district was seized by Rome’s police after a newborn died there a few minutes after birth yesterday. Emergency services responded after being called by the infant’s parents, an Italian couple from Rome, who then notified the police. Officers from the Trevi police station collected the medical records, and the baby's body was made available to judicial authorities. Two midwives have reportedly been reported, and an autopsy will be performed on the newborn. The ‘Il Nido’ maternity home provides support to expectant mothers during childbirth, using methods such as hypnobirthing and prenatal yoga. The police were alerted yesterday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.
