Milan, 14 September (LaPresse) – Codacons has decided to launch an initiative against schools that do not enforce the ban on mobile phones in the classroom, established by circular no. 3392 of 16 June by the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara, which extended the ban on the use of mobile phones throughout the school day to secondary schools. “Parents whose children attend schools that continue to allow mobile phone use during the school day can send a report to the association's email address. The headteachers of these schools will be reported by Codacons for non-compliance with current regulations and will be held accountable for failing to enforce the circular,” the association said in a statement. ‘Just as students risk penalties – up to and including suspension – if they do not comply with the ban on mobile phone use, schools must also be penalised if they do not enforce the new provisions with the utmost severity,’ Codacons concluded.
