Middle East, Pope calls Gaza parish: ‘Concern and closeness’

Rome, 16 September (LaPresse) – Pope Leo XIV telephoned the parish of Gaza this morning from Castel Gandolfo – where he spent the night and part of the day – and spoke with Father Gabriel Romanelli. The conversation was confirmed by the Holy See Press Office, as reported by Vatican media. ‘The Pope,’ the Press Office said, ‘expressed his concern about what is happening and assured Father Gabriel and all those who turn to the parish of his closeness and his prayers.’
