Naples, 1 October (LaPresse) – Vittorio De Luca, 75, arrested last Sunday after delivering an envelope containing a bullet to Don Maurizio Patriciello, parish priest of the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Parco Verde, Caivano (Naples), during Mass, remains in prison. The investigating magistrate of the Court of Naples North validated De Luca's arrest this morning, ordering his preventive detention in prison. De Luca was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Caivano company, who intervened on the spot after receiving a report of the delivery of an envelope containing a bullet to the priest, who is known for his anti-Camorra activism. In June 2024, the 75-year-old had already been arrested in the church of St Paul the Apostle when he was caught by the police in possession of a knife, which he had kept in his pocket. The man is the father-in-law of a boss of the Ciccarelli-Sautto clan.
