Naples, Oct. 4 (LaPresse) – A yellow alert has been issued for tomorrow, Sunday, October 5, covering parts of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily, and the entire region of Puglia. The Civil Protection Department issued a warning for adverse weather conditions, predicting strong to gale-force northerly winds from tonight, Saturday, October 4, in Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Emilia-Romagna, with gusts reaching storm force along coastal areas.
From the morning of Sunday, October 5, strong to gale-force northerly winds are also expected in Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, and Puglia, with gusts up to storm force along the coast. The warning also forecasts high waves along exposed coastlines.
“The Atlantic disturbance arriving from central-western Europe over our peninsula,” the notice reads, “will cause worsening weather conditions from tonight. At the same time, the formation of a low-pressure area over Liguria, moving toward the Adriatic, will lead to intensified northerly winds across much of Italy, especially in the Adriatic regions.”
