Castel d’Azzano (Verona), Oct. 14 (LaPresse) – Among the hypotheses under investigation regarding the causes of the explosion in a farmhouse in Castel d’Azzano, in the Verona area, during last night’s eviction operation, is that of a Molotov cocktail thrown by the woman who occupied the house. This was stated by Raffaele Tito, chief prosecutor of Verona, regarding the blast that killed 3 carabinieri and injured 13 other law enforcement officers. “Gas cylinders were found throughout the house,” he said. “The bodycams will provide more details.” The rooms were “certainly saturated, and the explosion occurred on the first floor, not on the ground floor.” To cause such a deflagration, “the rooms must have been saturated. When the carabinieri opened the door, they heard a hissing sound,” he added, “probably caused by the gas cylinders being opened. They entered through the ground floor.”
