Rome, 15 October (LaPresse) – ‘Auschwitz is certainly not a place to visit on a day trip. It is a place to remember the immense tragedy that struck the people of Israel and must remain a warning to all of us in the face of growing anti-Semitism.’ This was the response of Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State, to journalists regarding the words of Eugenia Roccella, Minister for Family Affairs. ‘These are points of remembrance that must be continually recalled. Therefore, going there is a gesture of remembrance and solidarity,’ added the cardinal.
