Rome, Oct. 17 (LaPresse) – After cordoning off the area around the car found near journalist Sigfrido Ranucci’s home in Pomezia, a technical sweep was carried out by the bomb disposal unit of the provincial Rome command. The vehicle, a Fiat 500X, was found to have been stolen in the Ostia area in recent weeks. "We reconstructed Report’s past investigations and those to come. Am I afraid? Fear is a state of mind that must accompany a person, especially those who do this job," Ranucci told La Vita in Diretta on Rai1 after meeting investigators from the Rome prosecutor’s office about the attack he suffered last night. "Whoever placed that device knows my movements; they put it under my car, at the spot where I usually pass. It was rudimentary, with one kilogram of explosive; you have to be very skilled to do all this. The subtitle of what happened is: ‘We know how you move and we can strike your family at any time’," Ranucci added. The journalist also dedicated a final thought "to the three Carabinieri and their families, people who gave their lives for the State."
