Rome, 17 Nov. (LaPresse) – ‘The house was at the back, where they have now built a recording studio. There was a hall where the commendatori held parties, the old companies came, and there was a cellar, about thirty steps, and there was a staircase that allowed access and then you reached the catacombs’. This is what Franco Piacentini, former tenant of Villa Osio, now Casa del Jazz in Rome, told reporters. Since Thursday, excavations have been underway to locate the entrance to the catacombs, where the remains of magistrate Paolo Adinolfi, who disappeared in 1994, are also believed to be found. The work, which began on Thursday morning, is concentrated in a specific area around the villa that once belonged to Enrico Nicoletti, considered the treasurer of the Banda della Magliana. "My father worked for Osio and I lived here for twenty years, from 1948 to 1968. I think there must be something there. They immediately closed off the cellar, where there was a trapdoor, a sort of cave, which went down to the catacombs. In my day, we used to store wine bottles there because the cellar was cool."
