Florence, 18 November (LaPresse) – The Court of Prato has fully acquitted Mario Cusimano, the maintenance technician who was accused of manslaughter and malicious removal of safety precautions in the proceedings concerning the death of Luana D'Orazio, the 21-year-old worker who lost her life on 3 May 2021 while working at Orditura Luana in Via Garigliano, Montemurlo (Prato). Mario Cusimano has always proclaimed his innocence and for this reason, unlike the de facto and de jure owners of Orditura Luana, Daniele Faggi and Luana Coppini, who pleaded guilty to two sentences of one year and six months and two years' imprisonment (with conditional suspension of the sentence) respectively, he chose to stand trial under the ordinary procedure. The public prosecutor Vincenzo Nitti had requested a sentence of two years and eight months' imprisonment.
