Rome, Dec. 13 (LaPresse) – The Turin imam Mohamed Shahin “is fine, he is being held in an Italian CPR in Caltanissetta, in a condition of lawful deprivation of personal liberty, and he has challenged the first appeals he was entitled to. He is doing very well.” This is what Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi said while speaking at Atreju regarding the case of the Turin imam Mohamed Shahin, who is subject to an expulsion decree. Regarding the measure, Piantedosi added: “This has nothing to do with Islam or the fact that he is an imam, but with certain associations and types of behavior that, for reasons of national security, led the national authority to apply this measure to him.”
