Rome, 26 December (LaPresse) – The young woman involved in the tragic accident that occurred on Christmas Eve in Leini, near Turin, in which 75-year-old Claudio Pogliano was struck and killed on a pedestrian crossing after Christmas Mass, between Via Lombardore and Via Coppi, voluntarily presented herself to the Carabinieri. The driver, a 21-year-old woman, told the Carabinieri where to find the car used, a grey Fiat Grande Punto registered to her mother. Investigations by the Carabinieri of Leini and the Venaria mobile radio unit revealed that the woman's 20-year-old brother and an 18-year-old friend were also in the vehicle. All three were reported on bail for failure to provide assistance, and the 21-year-old is also charged with vehicular homicide. The Ivrea Public Prosecutor's Office is coordinating the investigation.
