Milan, 20 January (LaPresse) – Since the early hours of this morning, the Carabinieri have been conducting a large-scale operation involving over 150 officers, aimed at executing numerous precautionary measures issued by the investigating magistrate of the Court of Reggio Calabria against individuals suspected of various crimes, including aggravated theft, receiving stolen goods, extortion and illegal possession of weapons. The operation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Reggio Calabria, is the result of a complex and detailed investigation conducted between October 2024 and April 2025, which led to the identification of a criminal organisation based in the Arghillà district and involved in car theft. According to the findings of the investigation, the stolen vehicles were dismantled within a few hours for the resale of parts or returned to their rightful owners upon payment of a sum of money, according to the tried and tested mechanism of the so-called “cavallo di ritorno” (return horse).
