Giuliano Spazzali, lawyer and protagonist of “Mani Pulite”, has died

Rome, 23 January (LaPresse) – Lawyer Giuliano Spazzali has died in Milan at the age of 87. Born in Trieste on 1 January 1939, he was Sergio Cusani's lawyer during the Mani Pulite investigation, particularly in the Enimont trial against Bettino Craxi and others, acting as defence counsel for those under investigation by the Milanese pool. Among the first to remember Spazzali on social media was lawyer Gabriele Fuga, who wrote in a post: “Giuliano Spazzali has left us: a great lawyer, a great teacher”.
