Rome, 26 January (LaPresse) – The Ordinary Court of Rome has overturned the sanction issued by the Data Protection Authority (with provision no. 621 of 23 October 2025) against the television programme “Report” for broadcasting a telephone conversation between former minister Gennaro Sangiuliano and his wife. Upholding Rai's appeal, the judge “accepts the request and, as a result, overturns provision no. 621 of 23 October 2025 issued” by the Authority. “Sangiuliano case: €150,000 fine overturned. Report wins against Privacy Authority: broadcasting audio was in the public interest,” writes Sigfrido Ranucci in a Facebook post.
