Rome, 2 February (LaPresse) – One in two young people say they have experienced at least one act of violence in their lifetime, and the web is considered the most dangerous place of all. This is what emerges from the 2026 edition of the Osservatorio indifesa (Defence Observatory) produced by Terre des Hommes, together with the Scomodo community, to listen to young people's views on violence, bullying and safety on the web. Released on the Day Against Bullying and Cyberbullying (7 February) and Safer Internet Day (10 February), the report gathered the opinions of over 2,000 Italian young people under the age of 26. In particular, girls report having experienced violence more than boys (57% vs 42%), but the highest percentage is among non-binary people (67%). Among other risky contexts, girls report uncontrolled public places – the street, public transport – and intimate and family relationships, while among boys, school and the context of friendships are more significant.
