Rome, 25 February (LaPresse) – "64.9% of young prisoners, equal to 370, are in prison solely by virtue of a pre-trial detention order. 173, or 30.2% of the total, are awaiting their first trial. If we look at minors alone, we find that 83.1% of all minors in detention are in pre-trial detention and 39.5% are awaiting their first trial." This is according to Antigone, an association that works to guarantee rights in the criminal justice and prison systems, in its eighth report on Italian juvenile justice, “Io non ti credo più” (I don't believe you anymore).
