Rome, 16 March (LaPresse) – Patrols from the 5th Prenestino Group of the Rome Capital local police responded to an incident on Via Prenestina, near Via Erasmo Gattamelata, following a rear-end collision between two trams that occurred shortly before 8 am this morning. Officers immediately secured the area, temporarily closing the tram line, and assisted with rescue operations for several passengers who were injured – though their injuries do not appear to be serious at this stage – for whom medical assistance was requested. Investigations by the traffic police are still ongoing to establish the sequence of events. Traffic management services in the area have been reinforced, and traffic is currently flowing normally.
