Rome, 17 March (LaPresse) – The case of the alleged fake Green Passes obtained by certain VIPs is coming to trial at the court in Piazzale Clodio, Rome. Among those sent for trial is the comedian Pippo Franco, along with his son Gabriele and his wife Maria Piera. All face charges of forgery of public documents: according to the prosecution, they allegedly used vaccination certificates for vaccines that were never administered to obtain the Green Pass during the pandemic. The proceedings involved a further fifteen people in total, including a general practitioner, who is considered the key figure in the case. The investigation, coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, stems from inquiries conducted by the Carabinieri’s NAS unit, which reportedly identified discrepancies between the number of doses declared and those actually available at the doctor’s surgery. According to the prosecution’s case, vaccination data was entered into the regional health system without the inoculations actually having taken place. In this way, individuals who did not meet the requirements were able to obtain the Green Pass. The alleged incidents took place between the summer of 2021 and early 2022.
