Milan, 17 March (LaPresse) – Carmelo Cinturrino appeared in court in Milan this morning for the review hearing to request house arrest in the investigation into the murder, aggravated by premeditation and breach of official duties, of 28-year-old Moroccan Abderrahim Mansouri. The assistant chief of the Mecenate Police Station, represented by lawyers Marco Bianucci and Davide Giuseppe Giugno, is asking the judges to replace the pre-trial detention order, which was issued in February by the mobile squad coordinated by Public Prosecutor Giovanni Tarzia and the Milan Public Prosecutor, Marcello Viola. Yesterday, the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office asked the investigating magistrate to order a preliminary hearing to hear, in cross-examination with the defence, eight individuals—including drug dealers and drug users—in the investigation which now involves seven different police officers facing various charges including drug dealing, extortion, assault, robbery, forgery, slander and blackmail. The decision on the 41-year-old’s appeal is expected in the coming days.
