Vatican City (Vatican), 30 March (LaPresse) – ‘Enclave should not be understood as mere isolation from the outside world’ but ‘in a world often marked by self-absorption and individualism’ monastic life is ‘a model for the whole People of God’. Pope Leo XIV made these remarks whilst receiving three communities of Benedictine nuns in audience: the Monastic Community of the Abbey of Santa Scolastica in Subiaco; the Monastic Community of the Abbey of Santa Maria del Monte in Cesena; and the Benedictine nuns of the Abbey of Santa Scolastica in Bari.
