Milan, March 31 (LaPresse) – The former Milan councillor for urban regeneration, Giancarlo Tancredi, and the city’s director general, Christian Malangone, are under investigation for disclosure of confidential information in the probe into the sale of the San Siro stadium to Milan and Inter.

According to what LaPresse has learned from the dozens-of-pages search warrant executed this morning by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Milan, coordinated by prosecutors Paolo Filippini, Giovanna Cavalleri and Giovanni Polizzi, with deputy prosecutor Paolo Ielo, the allegation concerns the dissemination and advance sharing of draft resolutions regarding the Meazza stadium, which were reportedly provided to private parties before their approval.

In the same investigation, which also includes dozens of chats seized last summer as part of a related urban planning corruption probe, former Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello and Inter manager Mark Van Huuksloot are also under investigation for bid rigging, together with Tancredi and Malangone.

The hypothesis of having influenced the sale is also being examined for Ada Lucia De Cesaris, lawyer Marta Clara Spaini, manager Giuseppe Bonomi, Inter consultant Fabrizio Grena, and municipal official Simona Collarini, former head of the procedure for the stadium sale.

Searches were also carried out at the premises of third parties not under investigation, including advisors, individuals, and companies. The case file also includes a measure signed by Milan investigating judge Roberto Crepaldi authorizing searches involving lawyers registered as suspects by the prosecution led by Marcello Viola, as required by law to protect the legal profession. Searches of lawyers are conducted with prior notice to the Bar Association, in the presence of a defense counsel, and carried out personally by the lead prosecutor.
