Milan, 1 April (LaPresse) – The ‘project’ for the new stadium in Milan, drawn up by AC Milan and FC Internazionale back in 2017, ‘appears, even at first glance, very similar to the current one’ after nine years of negotiations between the club and the City Council. This is because it is not a ‘redevelopment’ of the Meazza – as indicated in the initial council documents which, in 2019, envisaged the possibility of selling the stadium – but ‘a genuine property development project’ involving ‘an entire neighbourhood’ of Milan and which “from a private sector perspective, constitutes a business venture” aimed at acquiring “full ownership” of a “corporate asset”. So states the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation files regarding the sale of the Meazza.
