Easter, Pizzaballa: ‘All around us, too many graves dug by hatred’

Rome, 5 April (LaPresse) – “We are in the place where the stone has been rolled away, but we know full well that there are still too many stones around us. Too many tombs have been dug up again by hatred, violence and retaliation.” So said the Latin Patriarch, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, whilst celebrating Easter Mass at the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The cardinal called on people to “choose forgiveness when it would be easier to harden one’s heart, choose truth when it would be more convenient to conform, choose hope when everything suggests the opposite, choose to do good, just as Jesus ‘went about doing good’, even if it makes no noise, even if it brings no prestige”.
