Rome, 7 April (LaPresse) – "I don’t think the United States and Israel underestimated Iran’s military capabilities; they probably thought it would yield more easily, as it had done during the 12-day war. That wasn’t the case; it was probably a miscalculation. One cannot assume that a nation where there is no alternative will somehow collapse. Regimes can collapse when there is someone who can take the place of that regime, but in Iran the regime has killed or imprisoned all those who could have taken the place of the ayatollahs."
