Naples, 8 April (LaPresse) – No injuries or damage to property have been reported following the 3.4-magnitude earthquake recorded in the Campi Flegrei area at 4.48 pm today. This was confirmed by the mayors of the municipalities in the Phlegraean area, who spoke during the meeting of the Emergency Coordination Centre convened by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, in relation to the seismic swarm affecting the Phlegraean Fields, during which the magnitude 3.4 tremor occurred. The meeting was attended by the Campania Region’s Councillor for Civil Protection, Fiorella Zabatta; the mayors of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo della Ragione, and Pozzuoli, Luigi Manzoni; the director of the INGV Vesuvian Observatory, Lucia Pappalardo; the director of prevention at ASL Napoli 2 Nord, the Director of UOC 118, Luigi Langella, the Regional Unified Civil Protection Operations Centre, the Metropolitan City of Naples, representatives of the Municipality of Naples, the Fire Brigade, the police forces and the Regional Education Office. Teams of technicians from the Metropolitan City are inspecting the roads, and other technicians have been alerted to carry out structural checks on school buildings. At present, no critical issues have been reported. The Fire Brigade and the ASL 118 service have reported that they have not received any emergency calls related to the event, whilst the police have assisted a number of frightened individuals. The situation remains under close monitoring, the Prefecture assures.
