Rome, 11 April (LaPresse) – "Thank you for being here and for answering this call, this invitation to join together with our voices, our hearts and our lives to pray for peace. We all have peace in our hearts. May peace truly reign throughout the world; we are the bearers of this message.” Pope Leo XIV said this in St Peter’s Square to greet the many people who had gathered in response to his appeal to pray for peace, before entering the basilica for the prayer vigil. “God hears us, God is with us; Jesus told us that where two or three are gathered in his name, he is present,” added Pope Leo XIV. “During these days of the Easter Octave, we believe deeply in the presence of the risen Jesus among us. Now, united in the prayer of the Holy Rosary, asking for the intercession of our Mother Mary, we wish to tell the whole world that it is possible to build peace, a new peace; that it is possible to live together with all peoples of every religion and every race; that we wish to be disciples of Jesus, united as brothers and sisters in a world of peace.”
