Rome: Driver left fighting for his life after road rage incident; three arrested

Rome, 13 April (LaPresse) – A beating following a road rage incident, which was premeditated and resulted in attempted murder. This is the charge brought against Giordano D.A., aged 20, Davide I., aged 36, and Daniel T., aged 25, who are subject to a pre-trial detention order issued by the investigating magistrate of the Court of Rome, Carmine Castaldo, at the request of Deputy Public Prosecutor Gianfranco Gallo. The first two have been remanded in custody, whilst the third is under house arrest. The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Primavalle Police District. According to information obtained by LaPresse, the events date back to 28 December 2025, when a patrol car from the Prati Police Station intervened in Via Flaubert, in the Quartaccio district, north-west of the capital, where a 27-year-old Roman man had been attacked by three individuals armed with a golf club and a cleaver. The young man’s condition appeared immediately critical; he was rushed to the Policlinico Gemelli hospital as a code red emergency, suffering injuries to his head and a leg, with multiple fractures and severe head trauma. At the scene, forensic investigators recovered a broken golf club and other relevant items, whilst the victim’s mobile phone was seized. It was precisely through the analysis of the devices and the testimonies gathered that the circumstances leading up to the attack came to light.
