Rome, 5 May (LaPresse) – The body of a 20-year-old man was recovered this morning from the water in front of the Guardia di Finanza barracks in San Polo, a district of Venice. The Fire Brigade was called out at 5.30 am to rescue people in the water in the San Polo 2640 area, where a young man from a group of three was reported missing. Two of them were rescued by a passing boat, whilst the third – the young man – did not resurface. Two lagoon fire engines (APL) from the Venice Dorsoduro station attended the scene, supported by divers from the regional unit, who began searching the lagoon. At around 7.15 am, the young man’s body was located and recovered by the divers. The Carabinieri and Suem 118 medical staff were present. Investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
