Florence, May 9 (LaPresse) – “We immediately activated the required protocols and contacted our fellow citizen, who is currently staying in Florence. She has been placed under precautionary quarantine pending the necessary clinical tests to verify any possible infection with the virus.” This was stated by Tuscany regional health councillor Monia Monni regarding a woman in Florence identified by the Italian Health Ministry as one of the four passengers on a KLM flight arriving in Italy on which the woman later hospitalized in Johannesburg and subsequently deceased had travelled. “The contact” between the Florentine woman and the deceased woman “may only have occurred during boarding operations,” Monni explained.
