Spain, Pope to young people: "Seek the truth, online there are often lies"

Madrid (Spain), June 6 (LaPresse) – "I would like to stress the importance of seeking the truth, because many voices and many things on the internet deceive us and tell us lies," Pope Leo XIV said, adding that we must "always seek the truth, and God is truth." The Pope made the remarks while answering questions from young people during a prayer vigil in Plaza de Lima in Madrid. "To recognise the voice of God, silence can help us first of all. It is important that everyone tries to develop the ability to be silent. We often wear headphones, listen to music, are distracted, and we do not know how to be silent. And it is often precisely in this experience of silence that we can distinguish the voice of God. When we seek silence, we decide what not to listen to and from which noises not to be distracted. By freeing ourselves from the noise of a thousand voices, we realise that some deceive our desires, others buy us without nourishing us, others speak for self-interest. In silence we understand that ideologies pass, while truth remains," Prevost added.
